Deforestation is the clearance of naturally occurring forests by logging and burning. There are many countries are getting concern about it. It is really a big problem because it can damage the environment through cutting down the trees. People do cutting down trees because they consider that forest is their source of income. It means that they can sell the woods to the other people who need and to the companies for building constructions. As a result, they can earn money to answer the demand of daily needs. However, it will lead to climate change and it will cause many impacts as well. One impact which we should consider is global warming. It is also believed that not only global warming, but there are some other impacts. Thus, this paper will argue that people removing or logging trees because of financial needs and commercial needs but the consequences also are people are depending on the trees and will do more cuttings, a lot of forest areas and big trees are logged and there are no big trees giving protection to other small trees and offspring. And the writer will provide some solutions for those problems as well.
The first reason which makes people removing trees is financial needs. In point of fact, the financials needs are one of the essential things in our daily life. People cannot live without money. Truly, we live in town or in city need lots of money in order to survive life. Allied to this case, people could do everything even they recognize that they are doing the erroneous things. Ultimately, they remove trees and sell them to get money. And they will use that money to send their children to school. In the same way, they can use that money for other necessities as well. For instance, they can use that money for daily needs like buying foods, furniture, clothes, and so on. Yet, if people log down trees so much and never plant new trees, it will lead to some consequences. One of those consequences is people are depending on the tress for cooking and heating. As a matter of fact, the large numbers of people are using woods for cooking and heating. It happens because there are no gases or electricity for them, so they just depend on the trees. In the same way, woods are cheaper for them they can get it easily. As a result, they will do more cuttings and do not care the consequences if do more cuttings. Consequently, various trees will be destroyed and get decreased as well. If people keep on doing this erroneous thing, the trees will get a dramatic decrease day by day. So what will happen next? Exactly, it will lead to natural disasters like floods, landslides, etc.
In order to give solution to this problem, the government should provide people gas and electricity. The writer thought that this is the best way to solve the problem. There should be gas and electricity for cooking and heating. The government can offer those things through the competent ministry. There are two ways that the government can instigate. One is provide gas to each household and the second is give them free electricity or lessen the price of electricity. As a result, people will diminish logging down the trees because they have already gas in their house. In the same way, the government should provide also scholarship for poor family. In fact, lots of poor family that depend on selling trees in order to survive their life and send their children to school as well. So if the government does not offer scholarship for their children, they will cut down more trees sell them in order to get money. Consequently, it will bring about many impacts that I have mentioned before. That is why, it can be stated that the gas and electricity providing and scholarship as well will reduce people that depend on logging trees.
The second reason which makes people logging trees is commercial needs. In reality, woods have important role in construction area and office stationeries or furniture as well. People cannot build a house or make a table without woods, even they can use iron. It is impossible for them to use iron in all constructions even for a simple table. Consequently, people need woods for their constructions. That is why; people begin logging down trees in many ways. The large numbers of people cut down trees by using modern tools like hedge trimmer. But some people still use usual tools like hand saw, axe, etc. After that, they will log down more trees and sell the woods to other countries for constructions (building), office stationeries of furniture like paper, pencils, chairs, cupboards, desks, etc. As we know that as a human being we need house to live and we need other things to survive our life. Therefore it means that we need more woods in order to realize it. Thus, people will log more trees and selling them for to other countries for constructions or any other necessities. However, if we cut down more trees and export them for construction or other needs, it will affect to other plants or animals as well. One consequence is big or large areas have no trees which will result in biodiversity. The removal or destruction of areas of forest cover has resulted in a ruined environment with reduced biodiversity. Forests support biodiversity, providing habitat for wildlife; moreover, forests foster medicinal conservation. With forest biotopes being irreplaceable source of new drugs, logging more trees can destroy genetic variations permanently. Since the tropical rainforests are the most diverse ecosystems on Earth and about 80% of the world's known biodiversity could be found in tropical rainforests, removal of significant areas of forest cover has resulted in a degraded environment with reduced biodiversity. Scientific understanding of the process of extinction is insufficient to accurately make predictions about the impact of cutting down trees on biodiversity. Most predictions of forestry related biodiversity loss are based on species-area models, with an underlying assumption that as forest is declines species diversity will decline similarly. Species-area models are known to over predict the number of species known to be threatened in areas where actual deforestation is ongoing, and greatly over predict the number of threatened species that are widespread. It has been estimated that we are losing 137 plants, animal and insect species every single day due to rainforest deforestation, which equates to 50,000 species a year.
In order to respond to this case, there are two ways that we can put into action. The first one is make selection to areas trees and types of woods to cut for exporting or importing. We should apply this method because it is a good way to prevent the consequences that the writer has mentioned above. But absolutely some people might think that how can we make selection for those trees. Hence the way to make selection the trees is we can choose some trees that have already matured; otherwise we just cut down the whole trees even the small one. Another solution is the government must create law to control cuttings exporting and importing of woods. Not only creating the law but also apply it buy putting forest guard or police to control it. It can be a good solution to solve the problem because through the law people will reduce their cuttings. Therefore, it can be acknowledged that by making selection to the trees and creating the law for cutting, exporting and importing of woods can work out with that matter.
In conclusion, deforestation has really damaged our environment. It can be proved through the erroneous actions that are doing by some people nowadays. In reality, those people remove trees in order to realize their necessities, like selling the trees to get money and their children to school and logging down the trees for building constructions as well. But in one hand it will really lead to some consequences when removing trees so much and never planting the new one. Those consequences are such as people will depend on the trees and they will do more cuttings, another consequence is the removal or destruction of areas of forest will result in a ruined environment with reduced biodiversity. Therefore, there are some ways that we can put into action. The first one is the government should people gas and electricity and scholarship for poor family as well. Second solution is we should make selection to areas trees and types of woods to cut for exporting and importing. Another solution is the government must create law to control cuttings exporting and importing of woods.
